Mr. Alan Pennington, son of Councillor John Pennington, J.P., who last week was elected President of the Oxford University Athletic Club, yesterday equalled the 220 yards record at the Universities' Athletic Union championship meeting at the White City, London.
Pennington, holder of the U.A.U. 220 yards title, covered the distance in 22.3 seconds.
He will be on of the finalists in the furlong to-day, and a great performance may be expected from him.
