The Montane Winter Spine Sprint was a non-stop, 46 mile race along the most iconic and demanding trail in Britain: the Pennine Way. The race covered a challenging and technical section of the Pennine Way. It was physically and psychologically demanding and required a degree of self-sufficiency and skill which set this race apart from others. Beginning from Edale in Derbyshire, runners had a time limit of 18 hours to reach the finish line at Hebden Bridge. Runners had to face the full intensity and ferocity of the British Winter and were tested against the toughest of trails. Vicky completed the race in a great time of 15:50 for 15th lady and said after the race "Not sure how I did that! The first 15 miles were the worst and then my body just accepted that this was what we are doing now! I had 2 of the best cups of tea in my life off mountain rescue who were about, think that's what kept me going!"
